Alpine is located in Lincoln County, Wyoming. The northern Lincoln County area is often referred to as simply – “Star Valley”. Alpine, WY is closest to Jackson near the Palisades Reservoir, which is fed by the Snake River. South of Alpine is Etna, Star Valley Ranch, Thayne, Afton, and the County Seat, Kemmerer.

Elevation 5633′ Alpine has a small population of 836 as of 2013.
