Jackson Hole & Teton Valley Information and News Resources

The Yellowstone Ecosystem encompasses a broad region including Teton Valley. Teton Valley is surrounded by national forest and three mountain ranges including The Big Hole, Snake River and Teton Mountain Ranges – all heavily forested and snow capped, draining into the Teton River which runs through the center of our valley. From the wonders of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks both forks of the famous Snake River are born, passing through Jackson Hole, Wyoming, en route to the Palisades Reservoir the South Fork of the Snake River runs through Swan Valley. The Henry’s Fork of the Snake River is formed at the confluence of Robinson Creek and Warm River, east of Island Park, then downhill from Mesa Falls, later joining the Snake River just west of Teton Valley. A trout fisherman’s paradise including species of Brown, Rainbow, Brookie, Bull and Cutthroat trout; a great place to wet your tippet!

Activities for the non-fisherman: Teton Valley’s beautiful four seasons offer substantial outdoor adventure such as hiking, hunting, camping, biking, rock climbing, photography, wild-life viewing, skiing at our own Grand Targhee Ski & Summer Resort, snowmobiling, or dirt-biking at Saint Anthony Sandunes. For the aerial enthusiast, glider and hot air balloon rides are a daily event from Driggs Reed Memorial Airport – soon to offer charter commercial flight services. Keep in mind that this region boasts the home to at least 5 regional museums and numerous local art galleries, soon to include the new Moran-Jackson Museum at 300 Main in Driggs.
